The Background

A long-established grocery store chain was not receiving the quality of service they expected from their security company. The security officers were too casual in their work ethic and slovenly in their attire. The Solution

In April 2021, the Signal franchise owner took over the contract with several area grocery stores. Establishing rapport and building trust with the new client was paramount for the Signal owner. The owner sees his supervisors and management team as highly responsive when an incident occurs in a store. The previous security company did not always step in quickly when a store security issue developed. In contrast, Signal recently sent several officers to respond immediately when a driver under the influence of drugs drove his vehicle through a grocery store’s doors.

Recently, the Signal owner notified the grocery stores of an increased bill rate and all the stores agreed that Signal deserved the raise.

Because the Signal officers are doing an exceptional job, the grocery chain’s local and upper management are asking for additional services. Often when a store’s own courtesy officers cannot make their shift, the grocery stores call Signal and ask for an officer to cover that shift. This “we’re here for you” approach is solidifying a strong partnership between the grocery store chain and Signal.

As the holidays are approaching, the grocery stores are planning to give turkeys or hams to the Signal employees. The grocery store chain vice president appreciates how Signal officers are securing the stores and has assured the Signal owner, “I want to be sure we take care of you.”
