Honoring Those Who Go Above and Beyond: Celebrating Our 2025 Hero and Officer of the Year

At Signal, our people are the foundation of everything we do. While our core values and operational excellence guide us, it is the actions of our officers in real moments that define who we are as an organization.

At this year’s Convention, we had the privilege of recognizing two of the highest honors across our network: Hero of the Year and Officer of the Year. These awards celebrate individuals who not only meet expectations but rise far beyond them.

2025 Heroes of the Year: Officers Eli and Stephen

Each year, the Hero of the Year award is reserved for individuals who step forward in moments that demand courage and conviction to help others, regardless of the situation. This year, two officers exemplified exactly what that means.

While on post at a Jewish temple, Officers Eli and Stephen responded to a rapidly unfolding and dangerous situation. After hearing gunshots, they immediately moved toward the threat, demonstrating the kind of instinct and bravery that defines true service.

Officer Eli was first to engage the suspect, issuing commands and attempting to de-escalate the situation. When the suspect moved back toward a weapon, Eli acted decisively, using his training to subdue him. Officer Stephen moved in simultaneously to secure the firearm and provide cover, ensuring the threat was fully contained.

Together, they held the suspect until local law enforcement arrived. Because of their swift and courageous actions, no members of the community were harmed.

Their response is a powerful example of vigilance, preparation, and the critical role our officers play in protecting the communities we serve.

2025 Officer of the Year: Officer Christian

The Officer of the Year award recognizes an individual who consistently sets the standard – not just in performance, but in presence, professionalism, and purpose.

This year’s recipient, Officer Christian, has demonstrated exceptional situational awareness and decisive action across multiple critical incidents. His ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively has made him an indispensable part of his team.

From preventing a potential arson situation and assisting in the apprehension of a suspect, to intervening in a domestic violence incident and helping ensure victim safety, to stopping a vehicle theft in progress, his actions reflect a pattern of vigilance and commitment to public safety.

What sets Christian apart is not just what he does, but how he does it. He approaches every situation with professionalism, passion, and unwavering honesty and integrity – truly representing Signal’s core values and earning the trust of both his team and the community he serves.

A Standard Worth Celebrating

These award recipients represent the very best of Signal. Their actions are not only moments of excellence – they are reflections of the standards we strive to uphold every day.

Whether stepping into danger without hesitation or consistently delivering at the highest level, they remind us of the impact our people have in every community we serve.

Congratulations to our 2025 Heroes of the Year and our Officer of the Year. Your courage, professionalism, and commitment to service set the standard for us all.
